Before installation:

1. If you have installed software earlier than ArcGIS 9.2, uninstall it first. Otherwise, the installation may fail;

2. Install license manger (ArcGIS 9.2 License Manager): use NotePad to open license. the LIC file. In the first line, change this_host in "server this_host any" to the name of your computer, and save the modification. Run the downloaded lmsetup.exe file to install the License Manager; select "I Have ed the license by email... Select the configure Services tab, make sure that "ArcGIS License Manager" is in the "service name" list box, and locate the current license file to c: \ Program Files \ ESRI \ license \ arcgis9x \ license. LIC, select the "Start server at power up" and "Save service to save the Settings" items;

Select the start/stop/reread tab. You can now test whether the license is successful: click the "Stop server" button, then reread license file, and then start server, the dialog box mentioned in the test is as follows;

Select the server diagnostics tab and click the "perform Diagnostics" button. If everything is normal, all entries in the list are displayed as OK;

5. After the above license configuration is complete, you can install ArcGIS Desktop 9.2.

Step 1 of installing ArcGIS Desktop. First install ArcGIS License Manager:

7./click Start Menu ArcGIS to open lmtools (License Manager 9x)
8./click "configuration using services" and select "arggis License Server"
