Configure the IP address of the Xerox Phaser 3125N printer

Connect the network cable to the Xerox Phaser 3125N printer and turn the power on. Press and hold the Cancel key on the printer until the printer prints out the Configuration page. Make a note of the MAC Address. Then use the Set IP tool on the Windows host to configure the IP address based on the MAC address.

Note that Xerox Phaser 3125N printing does not have an LCD screen, there is only one Cancel button, so there is no way to configure the IP Address on the printer.

Installing and configuring CUPS

Follow these steps:

$ sudo pacman-s--needed cups ghostscript gsfonts$ sudo rc.d start cupsd$ sudo vim/etc/rc.conf (add cupsd to Daemons)

Download Xerox Phaser 3125N printer driver

Follow these steps:

After extracting the Phaser_3125_w7.zip, get the printer/ps/english/winxp_vista_64/xp3125.ppd file.

Add Xerox Phaser 3125N printer to CPUS

2. Enter localhost:631 in the Chromium browser address bar and the Home-cups 1.6.1 page appears.
4. Click Adding Printers and Classes, and the Administration-cpus 1.6.1 page appears.
6. Click Add Printer and the Add Printer-cups 1.6.1 page appears.
8. In the click Coutinue, the next page of Add printer-cups 1.6.1 appears.
10. Fill in the Name, Description, and location items, then click Coutinue, and the next page of Add printer-cups 1.6.1 appears.
12. In the click "Select File", select the XP3125.PPD file obtained in the previous step (copy to/ETC/CUPS/PPD/XEROX-3125.PPD when the installation is complete). Then click Add Printer.
14. Add Printer complete.
16. Click Printers in the Home-cups 1.6.1 page to see the Printers-cups 1.6.1 page.
18. In the click Xerox-3125, the Xerox-3125-cups 1.6.1 page appears.
20. In the Select Maintenance, set Default options, the Set Printer options-cups 1.6.1 page appears.
22. In the General page that appears, change PageSize to A4, and then click the Set Default Options button.
24. Done.
