Are you sure you want to search by Google?

I recently read a section in Tian Zhigang's "you need to manage your knowledge" about how to correctly use Google for search. After reading it, I realized that I would not use Google for search, if you pass more than three of your skills, I fail.

It is estimated that many people have not read Google's or Baidu's search help, including me, close-up, and increasing knowledge:

-Indicates

For example, if you want to search for an enterprise with the same name as ours on Google, you can enter:

E-commerce digital-Anhui (all e-commerce digital does not include the search results of E-commerce digital Anhui)

If you search for "E-Commerce digital", the first result is our company,

E-commerce digital-Anhui (all e-commerce digital does not include the search results of E-commerce digital in Anhui ).

  * Represents a wildcard, which can replace any character

For example, if you forget some characters during the search, you can use * instead. At present, you do not know the purpose of this wildcard.

| Operator

When we search for multiple keywords at the same time, Google means and by default. If we look for keywords that contain any difference, then I will show that or is powerful, for example, when we search for redmine dotproject, we can only search for million records. If we use redmine | dotproject, it will be million records.

Site: Search for websites

For example, search for redmine in wmcxy.iteye.com, and search as follows:

Redmine site: wmcxy.iteye.com. You can find 360 results.

Google official explanation:

Phrase search ("")
Adding double quotation marks to a search phrase means that Google will find the result strictly in the form of the phrase without making any changes to the search phrase. Google search itself regards word order and word combination as distinct overall search marks. Unless necessary, it does not split the search term, so it is usually not necessary to add quotation marks. If you search by phrase, you may accidentally miss some useful search results. For example, if you search for ["Li Yun"] (with quotation marks), you will miss a webpage containing Li Xiaoyun.
Search for the exact match result of a single word ("")
Google search automatically uses synonyms, so it returns search results containing synonyms. For example, if you search for [Child Care] (including spaces), you can also search for "child care ", the query for [California history] will also look for "California history ". However, Google's help sometimes seems redundant, but returns a synonym search result you don't want. Adding double quotation marks to a single word is equivalent to telling Google to search results based on exactly the words you typed.
Search for a specific website (site :)
Google allows you to specify that search results must come from a specific website. For example, querying [Iraqi site: nytimes.com] will only return the webpage about Iraq on nytimes.com. Generally, you can use a relatively simple query [Iraqi nytimes.com] or [Iraqi New York Times], although this may return search results from other websites that mention the New York Times. You can also specify a type of website, such as [Iraqi site :. gov] will only be returned. gov domain search results, and [Iraqi site :. IQ] returns only search results from the Iraqi website.
Words to be excluded (-)
Add a minus sign next to a word, indicating that you do not want a webpage containing the word to appear in the search results. The minus sign should be placed close to the corresponding word, and a space should be added before the minus sign. For example, in the query [anti-virus software], the minus sign is used as a hyphen, so it is not interpreted as an exclusion symbol; if you search for [anti-virus-software], the search for the word "anti-virus" is excluded. You can exclude any number of words as needed. You only need to add minus signs before them, for example, [America tiger-auto-soccer-OS]. Minus sign-not only used to exclude words. For example, if you add a minus sign (no space in the middle) before the "site:" operator, you can exclude a specific website from the search results.
Complete search for words (*)
Wildcard * is a little-known feature, but it is very powerful. If you use * in the query, Google will try to treat this asterisk as any unknown word and then look for the best matching result. For example, if you search for [Google *], you will get search results for several Google products (there are many search results pages because we have many products ). [Obama voted * on the * Bill] will return a report about Obama's vote for different proposals. Note that the * operator can only represent the entire word, not a part of the word.
Or Operator
Google's default behavior is to search for all words. If you want to search for any word in a certain number of words, you can use the OR operator (note that "or" must be in uppercase ). For example, [San Francisco giant team 2004 or 2005] returns a search result containing any year, while [San Francisco giant team 2004 2005] (no or) displays a webpage containing both years. Symbol | it can be replaced by or. (Note: by default, Google will apply the and operator, so you do not need to add this operator .)
