ASM start and close operation options

Start and close an ASM instance

The startup and shutdown operations of the ASM instance are similar to those of the RDBMS database instance:

Execute the STARTUP operation

FORCE, this option is forcibly disabled, the shutdown abort operation is executed, and then started;

MOUNT: Start the ASM instance and MOUNT the disk group specified by the ASM_DISKGROUPS parameter;

NOMOUNT: Start the ASM instance but do not mount the disk group;

OPEN, note that the ASM instance does not have the OPEN option operation, but is actually OPEN after the MOUNT.

Perform the SHUTDOWN operation

NORMAL. The ASM instance is closed only after all connections exit;

IMMEDIATE: does not wait for the session to exit but closes after the session is completed;

TRANSACTIONAL, equivalent to IMMEDIATE;

ABORT, close immediately.
