ASP. NET Core deployment preparations for installing Ubuntu Server 16.10, hyper-v16.10 with Hyper-V
Overview
Hyper-V is a virtualization product of Microsoft. It adopts the same hypervisor technology as VMWare. It has been embedded in the Win10 system. We only need to install it. However, make sure that your machine has virtualization enabled. You can view the information in the task manager as follows:
Ubuntu is an open-source Linux operating system and provides a server version for enterprises. For other release versions such as CentOS and Debian, this article is based on Ubuntu Server 16.10. Not to mention that Ubuntu has many materials and a wide community. It is the first Linux operating system (first-in-first-class) that I have come into contact with in my university, so it deserves to be my first choice.
1. Install Hyper-V
1. on the control panel → program → enable or disable Windows → select Hyper-V, and then restart the computer after installation
Ii. Configure Hyper-V
1. Open the Hyper-V manager you just installed, right-click it, select create virtual machine, and then follow the wizard step by step.
2. Change the Virtual Machine name to Ubuntu16.10, and then modify the storage location of the virtual machine. We recommend that you put it on a disk with a large space.
3. Select the first-generation Virtual Machine. For the difference from the second-generation Virtual Machine, see (PS: the second generation does not seem to support my computer)
4. configure a 2 GB memory for it
5. If the network adapter does not exist, ignore it for the moment. We will configure it later and proceed directly to the next step.
6. Set a 50 GB virtual hard disk for the virtual machine. The name and location can be left unchanged by default.
7. Select the image file of Ubuntu16.10 Server we downloaded earlier.
8. The last step is complete!
In the future, you can also set the virtual machine, such as adding the virtual CPU to four cores.
Next, configure a virtual network for virtual machines: select the vswitch manager on the right of the manager, open and create an external virtual switch, set the name, and select a network adapter that can access the Internet, do not forget to reset it to the network adapter of the virtual machine.
Iii. Install Ubuntu 16.10 Server
1. Start our virtual machine and start to install the system. You can install the system in English by default. Remember to use the keyboard, but the mouse won't work!
Do not ask why I do not select Chinese language for installation. LZ has been tested and has not been installed successfully, for example:
2. Install Ubuntu server directly. The first option is
3. Select English as the language.
If you ask me why I don't select Chinese, because LZ has already been tested, garbled characters will appear. If you want to make a Chinese package for the system later, I will not say it.
4. Now you can no longer see Chinese characters.
5. You don't need to configure the keyboard. Just click Next to select it.
6. Select Chinese for the home and layout of the keyboard, you know.
6. wait quietly for some system configurations.
7. Configure your host name
8. Set an account name
9. Set an account name and continue
10. Set a password for this account name and verify it again.
11. If it is encrypted, forget it...
12. set the clock. If no problem occurs, it will be displayed in the Asia/Shanghai time zone. Select Yes and then proceed.
13. configuring LVM (Encyclopedia: LVM is the full name of LogicalVolumeManager). It is a mechanism for Linux system to manage disk partitions.
Compared with General disk partitions, LVM is a logical layer built on the hard disk and partition physical layer, which improves disk utilization through logical partitions)
14. Are you sure you want to configure LVM?
15. Configure the size of your volume group. Enter 50% to indicate the size of half of the logical volume group.
16. Confirm to write partition changes to the disk.
17. Okay. Wait for the system to be installed.
No proxy is required. Continue
You do not need to update it. You can do it manually in the future. The later software will be skipped and you can continue.
18. You can have a cup of water during software installation...
19. Set the GRUB master boot to Yes
20. The installation is very fast.
Finally, after the system is restarted, enter the account and password to log in. Basically, there is no problem.
Conclusion
So far, the installation of the Ubuntu system has come to an end, and many times have been involved. Unfortunately, the official version can be upgraded to 17.04 (Rack). If you need long-term support, we recommend that you install Ubuntu Server 16.04 LTS! It's just for the purpose of learning and practice, so it doesn't matter. The next step is to deploy our ASP. NET Core project. This is the top priority.
