Assign a hyperlink to an Office toolbar button or menu command

You can rearrange and Change Office toolbar buttons, menus, and menu commands by using the mouse, and you can use the keyboard to access the Rearrange Commands dialog box to rearrange and change operations. Tasks that can be accomplished using the keyboard are identified as "accessible via keyboard."

You cannot assign a hyperlink to a button that displays a list or menu when clicked.

Assign a hyperlink to a toolbar button or menu command

1, on the Tools menu, click Customize.

2, make sure that the toolbar you want to change is visible.

Operation method

• In the Customize dialog box, click the Toolbars tab.

• Select the check box for the toolbar you want to display.

3, do one of the following when the Customize dialog box is open:

• Right-click the toolbar button.

• Point to the shortcut menu shortcut menu: A menu that displays a list of commands related to a particular item. To display a shortcut menu, right-click an item or press SHIFT+F10. , and then click Open to assign a hyperlink.

• Click menu.

• Click the menu command with the right mouse button.

• Point to the shortcut menu shortcut menu: A menu that displays a list of commands related to a particular item. To display a shortcut menu, right-click an item or press SHIFT+F10. , and then click Open to assign a hyperlink.

4, under Link to, click the source you want to link to.

5, select the options you want.

6, in the Customize dialog box, click Close.

1, on the Tools menu, click Customize.

4, click "Rearrange Commands".

5. Perform one of the following actions:

• In the Rearrange Commands dialog box, click Toolbars.

• In the Toolbars list, click the toolbar that contains the button for which you want to assign a hyperlink.

• In the Controls list, click the button.

• Click "Change Selection."

• On the shortcut menu, point to Assign Hyperlink, and then click Open.

Assign a hyperlink to a menu command

• If the menu command you want to change is on the menu bar, click menu Bar, and then click the menu you want in the menu bar list.

If the menu command you want to change is on the toolbar, click Toolbars, and then click the menu that you want in the Toolbars list. For example, click Drawing | AutoShapes to change the commands on the AutoShapes menu on the Formatting toolbar.

• In the Controls list, click the menu command for which you want to assign a hyperlink.

• Click "Change Selection."

• On the shortcut menu, point to Assign Hyperlink, and then click Open.

6, under Link to, click the source you want to link to.

7, select the options you want.
