I. BIOS optimization settings
On the home page of the BIOS settings, go to the "advanced BIOS features" option, move the cursor to the "frist boot device" option, and press "Pageup" and "Pagedown". The default value is "Floppy ", this indicates that the system will first read the startup information from the soft drive when it is started. This will prolong the start time of the machine and reduce the service life of the soft drive. So we want to select "hdd-0" directly from the hard disk boot, so that the boot will be faster than several seconds. In addition, we recommend that you select "disabled" for "above 1mbmemorytest" in BIOS settings, and enabled for "quickpoweronselftest.
The settings in the "advanced chipset features" item have a great impact on the acceleration of the host. Please pay attention to them. Change "Bank 0/1 DRAM timing" from "8ns/10ns" to "fast" or "Turbo ". "Turbo" is faster than "fast", but not stable. We recommend that you select "fast ". If the memory quality is good, select "Turbo". If the memory quality is unstable, you can change it back to "fast ".
For memory-quality memory, we recommend that you set it to "2" in the "sdram cas latency" option to speed up.
Newer boards support agp4x, and if your graphics card also supports agp4x, activate it at the agp-4xmode, that is, select Enabled ", this will give full play to the video card capabilities and speed up system startup.
Ii. Enable the DMA mode to increase the hard disk speed
The maximum transmission rate of hard disks using udma/33, 66, and 100 is 33 Mb/s, 66 Mb/s, and 100 Mb/s. Theoretically, it is an IDE Hard Disk (here it refers to the PIO mode4 mode, the transmission rate is 16.6 Mb/s) 3 ~ of the transmission rate ~ 6 times, but in the default settings in windows, DMA is disabled, so we must turn it on.
The specific method is to open the "Control Panel> system> Device Manager" window, expand the "disk drive" branch, double-click the udma hard disk icon, and go to "Properties> Settings> options ", click "√" before "DMA", and then press OK to close all the dialogs and restart the computer.
3. Remove the Windows boot mark.
First, open "start"> "Settings"> "binder options", and select "show all files" from the "Advanced Settings" list box in the "View" tab ". Open drive C and find msdos. sys File, cancel its "read-only" attribute, open it, and add a line of statement under the "option" section: logo = 0, in this way, the boot pattern of Windows will not be loaded and the boot time can be shortened by 3 seconds.
4. Optimize the "Start" group.
Computer beginners love to use various software and delete it after a short time, but it is often caused by some inexplicable reasons, these software will also reside in the "launch" project (especially when using some D version software), it will waste a lot of time for Windows to start. To solve this problem, you can open "start"> "run" and select "msconfig" in the "open" column of the displayed dialog box ", click "OK" to bring up the "System Configuration Utility" and click the "Start" tab, remove "√" before the program that does not need to load the Startup Group. In this way, the startup time can be reduced by at least 10 seconds.
5. Organize and optimize the registry.
After windows is started, the system needs to read the relevant information in the Registry and store it in RAM (memory). Most of the time windows is started on. Therefore, it is necessary to organize and optimize the registry. For registry optimization, you can use software such as Windows optimization master. After you click "register information cleanup"> "scan" as a Windows optimization master, the software will automatically clean up the garbage in the Registry for you. After the scan, a menu will pop up asking you to choose whether to back up the registry, we recommend that you select backup and click "clear" after backup.
6. Always maintain the system.
If you have installed too many games, too many application software, and too many old materials in the system, your computer will be running slowly, and the boot time will become longer and longer. Therefore, it is best to perform comprehensive maintenance on the computer at intervals. Click "start"> "program"> "attachment"> "System Tools"> "maintenance wizard", and then click "OK" to perform a full maintenance on the computer, this will keep your computer in the optimal state. It is best to perform "disk fragmentation" every two weeks for a hard disk, which will significantly speed up program startup. Click "System Tools"> "disk fragmentation program. Note that the system disk must be organized when disk fragments are sorted, so as to speed up the startup sequence of windows.
7. Expand the virtual memory capacity.
If your hard disk is large enough, open "system" in "Control Panel", enable "Virtual Memory" in "performance" options, and select the second item: you can set your own virtual memory settings to point to a hard disk that is rarely used, and set the maximum and minimum values to a fixed value, which is about twice the physical memory size. In this way, when a hard disk is used in a virtual environment, you do not have to consider the differences between the size and size of the disk, but use the fixed space as the virtual memory to speed up access. It is best to set the virtual memory after "disk fragment", so that the virtual memory is not in a continuous, non-fragment file space, can better play a role.
8. Remove fancy settings such as wallpaper and screen protection.
These settings occupy system resources and seriously affect the startup sequence of windows. To remove them, right-click the blank area on the desktop and select "properties" in the pop-up menu ", in the displayed dialog box, select the "background" and "Screen Saver" tabs, and set "Wallpaper" and "Screen Saver" to "NONE.
9. Delete autoexec. BAT and config. sys.
The system installs the autoexec. BAT and config. sys files under the root directory of the disk. If you do not need them in Windows, you can safely delete them to speed up windows startup.
10. Streamline the *. ini file, especially the content of system. ini and win. ini.
Many drivers and font files are loaded in the and sections of system. ini, which is the focus of clearing. Specifically, the field 'shell‑policer.exe 'is the favorite hidden loading place for Trojans. Generally, the trojan will change this sentence to 'shell‑policer.exe file.exe', And the 'file.exe' Here is the Trojan server program! The subsequent loading and running of Trojans not only threatens system security, but also slows down computer startup. the programs loaded after "run" and "LOAD" in ini are not required to run each time the system starts up. You can temporarily clear the programs and click "run" to run them later. In this way, the files related to Windows calling will be much reduced during boot, and the startup speed will naturally be much faster.
11. Disable disk scanning.
Open msdos. sys in a text editor and you will see the following:
Bootmulti = 1
Bootgui = 1
Autoscan = 1
If you do not want to run the disk scan program after an abnormal shutdown, you can change atuoscan = 1 to autoscan = 0, in this way, the startup speed of the computer will be faster after an abnormal Shutdown (because Scandisk is not running ).
12. Minimize the duration of the Guidance information.
Open msdos. sys in a text editor and set bootdelay to 0.
13. Reduce Unnecessary font files.
Font files occupy a large amount of system resources, boot is slow, and occupy a lot of hard disk space. Therefore, reduce unnecessary font files as much as possible. However, if the font file is deleted incorrectly, it may make windows abnormal. Therefore, the following method can be used to install a font file without occupying a large amount of disk space ), select All TrueType fonts, right-click them, and drag them to the C: windowsfonts folder. In the pop-up menu, select "Create a shortcut at the current position ", in this way, you can create a shortcut for font files under the font binder of the system. When you need to use these font files, you only need to insert the font disc and retrieve it if you do not need it.
14. Delete unnecessary DLL files. There are many DLL files in the system subdirectory of the window operating system. These files may be shared by many files, but none of them need to be used. That is to say, these files are useless, you can delete it to avoid occupying hard disk space and increase startup speed.
15th, the "left by the door" approach. If the system is suspended, the current system status will be saved after shutdown. After the next boot, the system will directly go to the desktop before the last shutdown. In this way, the boot time can reach 4-5 seconds at most, however, it is not supported by all the BIOS of the motherboard, and it is a little difficult to set up.
Open the registry and expand to the hkey_local_machinesoftwaremicrosoftwindowscurrentversionshareddlls subkey. There are many DLL files on the right. If the data is 0, you can determine that the DLL file is not shared by programs and delete it.
If the boot speed of the computer is not fast enough, in addition to upgrading the hardware (CPU, memory, hard disk, etc.), another good way is to reinstall the system, this will obviously speed up the computer startup. If you don't believe it, try it!
