Ati8.42.3DriverForLinux-Linux general technology-Linux technology and application information. For details, refer to the following section. I believe many of my friends have quietly released a AIGLX driver from Ati, which has not been shown in the driver download list on the Ati official website. To enable Compiz, the graphics card driver must support AIGLX. This driver should make a lot of Ati users excited. in the previous article, the Stone said that this Ati integrated graphics platform was borrowed.

Of course, we need to download and test it. First, we have uninstalled the restricted driver of Ubuntu, and then restarted, we can only enter the desktop at a low resolution (this is the role of the previously installed Ati 8.40 old driver ), then run the following command:

$ Sudo/etc/init. d/gestation stop

In this way, you can kill the Gnome desktop, press Ctrl + Alt + F1 to enter the terminal and log on. I downloaded the driver and saved it in the main folder. Then, you can run the following command:

$ Sudo sh ati-driver-installer-8.42.3-x86.x86_64.run

Then you can follow the graphics card driver Wizard to perform operations. After installation, run the following command:

$ Sudo reboot

After the restart, the 8.42.3 driver can be automatically set to the optimal resolution compared with the 8.40 driver, instead, you need to install the 8.40 driver before entering the desktop, and then install the restricted driver to automatically set it to the optimal resolution.

But maybe it's a rock, and my character is poor? After the 8.42.3 driver is installed, Compiz still cannot be started. Wait for Ati to provide a more mature graphics card driver.
