Attributes of GIS data

Today, I took a look at the technical support post written examination questions of digital in Wuhan. One of the questions (attributes of GIS data include ___ ____) is my professional knowledge, but I cannot say it myself, the information is summarized as follows.

GIS data includes spatial data and attribute data.

Spatial data mainly describes the location information of spatial objects. Generally, the coordinates of objects are recorded. Attribute Data describes the attributes associated with these spatial data, which can be divided into qualitative and quantitative attributes, qualitative attributes are used to describe the type of a space target, for example, defining a target as a river or road, while quantitative attributes define the quantitative characteristics of a space target, mountains and rivers.

There are two types of spatial data in GIS: vector data and raster data. Currently, vector data is the main data of application gis, such as land information system, cadastral information system, and mineral resources information system.

 

 

Therefore, the attributes of GIS data should include both qualitative and quantitative attributes.
