It's just about dropping the head to the standby location of power failure. It's estimated that the distance is too short. However, if the disc head is being rotated on the disc at the time, or the mobile storage device is removed too quickly, the disc head is in the process of returning to zero, sudden mechanical force power failure will inevitably lead to collision and friction between the disc head and the disc storing data! If it is light, some data is lost, and if it is heavy, the entire mobile storage device is scrapped! The service life of a mobile hard disk may be affected when the service is too long. It is estimated that it should be similar to hard drive Bad Sectors! After searching online, someone has encountered similar usage problems, resulting in damage to mobile devices and data loss!

The problem has been elaborated. The following is a solution: (I tested it in WIN7 SP1)

Solution 1:

Normally exit the USB mobile device step, click secure delete. After a prompt is displayed, enter the Device Manager (WIN key + R, enter devmgmt. msc) to disable a USB Root Hub device. At this time, you will see that the indicator of the mobile hard disk is off, and you feel that the mobile hard disk is stopped. (However, during my laptop test, the external USB mouse was also suspended! Unavailable! Fortunately, there is also a touchpad) after stopping, you can safely unplug your mobile hard disk.
PS: After pulling out, remember to enable the USB Root Hub device that you just disabled.
However, this method is troublesome and may cause problems with other USB devices. (There will be many problems on the laptop, because they are all interfaces of USB devices)

Solution 2:

Install third-party software that supports Windows 7/Vista with USB power failure. It was not found until now. It was found on a download website only tonight.
