By default, Windows XP will remember the settings of the last 400 folders. If you set more than 400 folders, the earliest folder settings will be lost. Can I enable Windows XP to remember more folder views? By modifying the registry, we can set the maximum number of folders to be remembered:
Open the Registry Editor, expand the [hkey _ current _ User \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ shell] branch, and set the sub-key "bagmru size" (REG_DWORD type, if not, change the value to the maximum number of folder views that you want to remember by the system (for convenience, change to decimal before entering the number, such as "1000 ").
Next, expand [HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft
\ Windows \ shellnoroam] branch. Similarly, in the right window, change the value of the sub-key "bagmru size" to the maximum number of folder views that you want to set for system memory. After the modification is complete, exit the Registry Editor and restart the computer or log on again.
Tip: If Windows XP cannot properly remember folder settings, You can first clear all folder settings (that is, delete the "bagmru" and "bags" subkeys in the Registry Editor ), then, make the above changes.
