We all know the basic usage of SFC in Windows XP, but the parameter meanings in the command line are different from those described in "Help and Support", which affects user usage to a certain extent, the following sections describe how to use it.
1. generally, when introducing SFC in media, you can enter SFC/scannow to run SFC (System File Check). However, by default, Windows File Protection is always enabled, you must use SFC/scannow, SFC/scanonce, or SFC/scanboot to fix the contents of the dllcache directory only when the dllcache folder is corrupted or unavailable.
TIPS: File Protection
After overwriting, the system may no longer be stable. Microsoft has added the file protection feature since Windows 2000, which can prevent the replacement of protected system files. Windows File Protection detects attempts by other programs to replace or move <--> protected system files. If the file version is incorrect, the Windows File Protection will go from the dllcache folder (also known as the File Protection Cache, which is located in the System32 folder of the system directory) or replace the file in the Windows 2000/XP installation disc.
2. for the significance of SFC/revert, for example, if you run SFC/scanboot, SFC will automatically run every time you enter Windows XP, no trace is found in the "Startup" of the "System Configuration Utility". If you want to disable it, you can run SFC/revert again to restore it to the default state.
3. SFC/purgecache can clear the "Windows File Protection" file high-speed cache, that is, delete all the content in the dllcache folder. This is also acceptable for hard disk users, however, since Windows XP has lost its ability to restore system files, the compromise should be to properly reduce the size of the folder, /cachesize = x parameter to set the cache size for "Windows File Protection" files. The default size is 102 MB and the minimum value is 15 MB. You can set it as needed, windows automatically adjusts the file based on its importance (you can also increase the folder ).
The meaning of other parameters is not described in detail.
4. disable file protection
To disable file protection, enter gpedit in "Start> Run" as follows. MSC, find "Windows File Protection" in "Local Computer Policy> Computer Configuration> management template> System", and double-click "Windows File Protection scan" in the right window ", go to the "Settings" tab and select "disabled". Here, you can also set the Scan Frequency of file protection and specify the cache location.
