PowerPoint presentations are similar in effect to slides. To convey a message or a story, you can break it down into multiple slides. You can view each slide as a blank canvas for placing pictures, text, and shapes, which will help you build your story.
Select a Theme
When you open PowerPoint, you'll see some of the built-in themes. A theme is a slide design that contains matching colors, fonts, and effects, such as shadows, reflections, and so on.
Select a topic.
Click Create , or select a color variant, and then click Create .

Insert New Slide
On the Start tab, click New Slide , and then select a slide layout.

Save a presentation
On the Files tab, click Save .
Select or browse to find a folder.
In the file name box, type a name for the presentation, and then click the Save button.

Add text
Click in the text placeholder, and then start typing.
Format Text
Select the text.
Under Drawing Tools , click Format .
Do one of the following:
To change the color of the text, click Text Fill , and then select a color.
To change the outline color of the text, click Text Border , and then select a color.
To apply shadow, reflection, glow, bevel, three-dimensional rotation, and transformations, click Text Effects , and then select the effect you want.
Add Shape
On the Insert tab, click Shapes .
Click the shape you want, click anywhere on the slide, and then drag to draw the shape.

Add a picture
On the Insert tab, do one of the following:
To insert a picture that is saved on a local drive or internal server, click Picture on my PC , browse to select the picture, and then click Insert .
To insert a picture from the Bing or Office.com Clip Gallery, click Online Picture , and use the search box to find the picture.
For example, type " cat " in theOffice.com clip art search box.

Add Speakers ' notes
This slide is best if you don't fill in too much information. You can fill in the speaker's notes with useful elements and notes, and refer to them in your presentation.
To open the notes pane at the bottom of the window, click remarks .
Click inside the Notes pane below the slide to start typing your notes.

Print Speakers ' notes
On the Files tab, click Print .
Under printers , select the printer you want to print.
Under settings , click the down arrow next to full page slides , and then under Print Layout , click notes Pages .
Click Print .

On the Slide Show tab, do one of the following:
To start the presentation from the first slide, in the start slide show Group, click Start from Scratch .
