Basic Web Knowledge and web development
I learned the Web technology course this semester, but I don't know what it is and what it is useful. The teaching material is for the development of Asp.net practical website, I am a beginner like me, so I decided to sort out the background knowledge of Web technology.
1. How Web works
Web is called World Wide Web (WWW ). Simply put, Web is a service provided by the Internet, through which information resources distributed on hosts over the Internet can be accessed, web is a collection of large numbers of linked documents stored in Internet computers around the world.
The Web runs in Client/Server mode. Information resources are stored on the Web server in the form of pages. Users send query requests to the Web server through the Web browser of the client, and the Web server responds according to the content of the client request. And send a page stored on the server to the client. The Web browser interprets the page and displays the page to the user. The Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) is used for information transmission between browsers and Web servers ).
A Web Server is a computer installed with Server software. Common Web Server software includes Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS), Microsoft Personnal Web Server (PWS), and Apache HTTP Server, common Web browser software includes Netscape Navigator (NN), Internet Explorer (IE), Mozilla Firefox (Firefox), and so on.
2. Web pages and websites
A web page is usually called a webpage. A web page consists of HTML files, including related texts, images, sounds, animations, videos, and script commands, the location can be determined based on the URL. According to the different response methods of the Web server, Web pages can be divided into static webpages and dynamic webpages.
A Web site is the address that provides Web service access. A general Web site consists of a group of related HTML files and other files stored on the Web server.
3. Static and Dynamic Pages
Static pages do not contain code that needs to be run on the server. They only contain HTML elements and CSS styles. They are generally stored with the extension htm or html. Once the static page content is made, it will not change. No matter when the content is accessed by anyone, it will display the same content. Although the static page is stored on the Web server, the execution of the static page is completely completed by the browser download. Therefore, you do not need a server to view the static page design results. You only need a browser.
Dynamic Pages not only contain HTML code and CSS styles, but also JavaScript code and code that needs to be compiled and executed on the Web server. Dynamic page content is stored in the database. The Web server can provide personalized page content for different users based on different requests. In actual execution, all dynamic pages must be converted to static pages by the Web server before the final browsing result can be displayed in the user's browser.
4. server code
The page contains the code of the programming language. When a customer requests this page, the server first executes the code and encapsulates the execution result into HTML format as an HTTP Response to the client. ASP. NET, JSP, or PHP are generally used. Proposed by Microsoft, ASP. NET is easy to learn and use, and has high development efficiency. It can be developed in combination with any. NET language. JSP must be used in combination with the Java language. The advantage of PHP is open-source, and the disadvantage is the lack of support from large companies. JSP and PHP are more difficult to learn than ASP. NET. More and more software companies at home and abroad began to use ASP. NET Technology for Web application system development.
5. client script
The webpage requested by the WEB Client contains the code written in the scripting language. The WEB server directly sends the page containing the Code to the browser. The browser interprets and executes the script, and display it to the corresponding position on the page in the corresponding format. 6. Advantages and Disadvantages of server scripts and client scripts
Server scripts are suitable for applications such as database access and security verification;
Client scripts are suitable for applications such as validity verification and page effects.
The server script avoids the trouble of displaying dynamic web pages normally and installing the running environment of the corresponding programming language on all computers.
The client script is used for some simple verification, which is more convenient.
7. Introduction to ASP
ASP is called Active Server Pages. It is a Server-side scripting language developed by Microsoft, it can be combined with HTML and ActiveX components to build dynamic, interactive, and efficient Web server applications.
. NET Framework is a set of Microsoft application development frameworks designed to provide a consistent development model. It has two main components: CLR and. NET Framework class library.
Many people put ASP. NET as a programming language, but it is actually. A component provided by the. NET Framework. NET language can reference this component to generate enterprise-level ASP.. NET website.
