In the book, Mr Levy said Mr. Schmidt had asked to delete a search result related to political donations, but Sandberg, the Google executive, refused to accept the order.
Schmidt has always been known for his astonishing public comments. Google announced in January this year that Mr Schmidt would step down as CEO in April. Larry Page, co-founder of Google, will succeed Schmidt as the new CEO of Larry Peggy.
Analysts believe Mr Schmidt's request was surprising: Google's lawyers ' team had said the company had never elevated or lowered a site's ranking in search results, even when it was fighting spam. However, earlier this month, Matt Katz, a Google engineer, objected, noting that Google could use the "whitelist" to exclude certain sites.
