Bitwise RIGHT SHIFT operator (>>)

Operation

Moves the bit of the expression right, keeping the symbol unchanged.

result = expression1 >> expression2

Description

The >> operator shifts all bits of the expression1 to the right expression2 The specified number of digits. The expression1 symbol bit is used to populate the left-empty bit after the right shift. The bit that is moved to the right is discarded. For example, after the following code is evaluated, the value oftemp is -4:-14 (that is, binary 11110010) right-shift two-bit equals 4 (that is, binary 11111100).
