Bom configuration and product Constructor

I have heard many people talk about the relationship between BOM configuration and product builder. Are these two things the same thing? Or which one is more advanced? I have played these two things. Here I want to talk about some similarities and differences that I think are not correct.

Similarities:

1. Both of them can partially solve Bom-related problems;

As described above, the similarities between the two are far-fetched. In fact, I also feel that the differences between the two are far greater than the similarities. Even after the two things are over, I feel that the two are somewhat cool.

Differences:

1. Different Problems to be Solved

The issues to be solved are related to Bom, but they are not the same.

The BOM configuration is used to solve the problem of the material number or BOM number. When used, it is found that its idea is very simple, that is, to try to save a code, this is essentially the same as the material size, color, and other attributes. We use a material code to describe many things. Of course, the difference lies in the size, color, and other material dimensions, in some cases, this is intuitive.

Product builder solves the problem of automatic BOM and route card generation. It focuses on how to automatically generate BOM and route card for users, this allows users to free themselves from the physical activity like creating BOM and route card. They only need to describe the material attributes they know.

2. Different Solutions

In order to save coding, BOM configuration is implemented in a configuration group for users to choose from, for example, a component lampshade of a lamp, there are various colors, such as red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple, you need to add the seven rows in BOM line, and then set the configuration groups of the seven rows to the same one, in this way, you can select one of the lamps from the BOM. However, in BOM line, the lampshade cannot be set to a material number, and the color is used to differentiate the material dimension. For example, if a material is set to 001, it indicates the shade, and then enable the color of the material dimension. According to my idea, we should be able to set it as follows: add seven rows to the BOM line, and select red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple for the color dimension respectively, then let the seven rows belong to a configuration group. Sorry, this is not the case ...... Different Material numbers are required! That said again, you can enable the configuration dimension of the shade, and then add seven dimension values. Isn't it OK if it is red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple? I only need to add a line to the BOM line. You can select one of the red, yellow, green, blue, and purple lines during configuration. Yes. If you only use one material dimension to do so, if a product has more than one material attribute, which of the following materials must be used? Bom configuration can only say sorry.

We can regard produc Builder as a dynamicCodeConstructor, which can flexibly define many variables that are used to describe the attributes of a product. The product Builder automatically generates a BOM Based on the attributes specified by the user.

3. Different SCOPE OF SOLUTION

Bom configuration is only used to construct Bom, and product builder can also be used to generate route card.

From the above description, I seem to be a bit more generous, with a lot of microwords on BOM configuration, but I love product builder. In fact, these two things are used in different business scenarios. If some parts in a finished product are replaceable and there are not many types, you need to save a few numbers for ease of management, yes, you can use BOM configuration. If your products are diverse and varied, you need a new BOM and route card for each list. Use Product builder.

In addition, in the construction process, product builder can determine whether a BOM has been created before through attribute values.
