Reading PDG-format books with the superstar reader requires one page at a time. It is very uncomfortable to convert it into PDF format for saving, reading, and printing. Searching on the Internet basically involves the use of PDF virtual printers. Because the new version of SSReader controls virtual printing, the virtual printers that directly use Adobe Acrobat and Office 2003 need to be renamed, and the operation is cumbersome. After a few simple attempts, they failed; if you do not want to download and install other virtual printers, you have to give up temporarily.
By chance, I checked the help of Acrobat Distiller and found that it could convert printed files in the PS format into PDF files, which gave rise to a new idea and was completely feasible after the experiment. The specific methods are shared with you.

1. Find the PS driver of any printerProgramAnd install.
Note: It is the driver of a real printer (non-virtual printer). It doesn't matter if there is no printer. We just use it to print it into a file, not on paper. In addition, the printer driver is generally divided into two types: PCL and PS, we need PS driver. The PS driver can be downloaded from the printer manufacturer's website, for example, pub (HP ).
2. Open the PDG file.
3. calculate the total number of pages of a book (cover + copyright +... + preface + directory + body ).
The page number of the text can be seen directly in the browser. The automatic calculation method of other pages has not been studied. I use the stupid method: Number.
4. display the cover page, select print. The start page is the current page, and the page number is the total number of pages just calculated;
Select the installed ps printer and print it to a file. In the dialog box that appears, enter the file name. The file extension is preferably. PRN (other files can also be selected, but the PRN file Acrobat Distiller can be automatically recognized). The file name has the best path to facilitate searching.
5. Open the PRN file with Acrobat Distiller and convert it to a PDF file as prompted.

Using this method, I tried to convert a book with nearly 500 pages in 1 to 2 minutes (excluding the number of pages of Time, of course), and from the cover to the body are all in a PDF file.

Lexical advantages:
Superstar has made some effort to block virtual printers. I believe that more virtual printers will be blocked in later versions of SSReader. The method in this article uses the driver of a real printer. Unless the superstar does not allow PDG files to be printed on paper, it will never stop us from converting PDG to PDF.

After trial use, this method is actually very good. The following is my experience:
1: The PS driver does not need to be downloaded. directly add a printer, and then select a printer with PS. It is best to choose a color printer, such as HP Color LaserJet 8550-ps, in this way, you can print the color books. You only need to select "no conflict" on the port. After the next installation is complete, you can use it.
2: When printing, select print to file. In this case, you need to enter the file name and enter the file name together with your own connection path. You can directly use PS for the extension, if there is no path to print out the file, it will be in the Super Star history file.
3: You can then use Acrobat Distiller to convert to a PDF file, which is much faster than the acrobat virtual printer. (Machine configuration: CPU 2.8g, MB memory, XP-SP2)
4: there is no need to count the number of pages. If you select all the PDG files, there will be as many pages as you can.
5: We recommend that you install the super star version 3.8. The last page cannot be changed when you use this method in version 3.72 !!!
This method is good and faster than PDF printing.
