WiFi

WiMAX

WAPI

 

The official launch of WAPI in China was in December May 12, 2003. In order to let the industry know the new standards to be implemented in China, eight ministries and commissions, including the Ministry of Information Industry and the Standardization Commission, held a massive publicity and promotion activity in Beijing on September 1, July 2003, the promotion should be said to be rare in the history of setting up national standards.

In July 16, 2008, the Wapi Industry Alliance announced the successful development of the world's first WAPI + GSM handheld terminal, and a major breakthrough in the commercialization of WAPI, a wireless LAN technology independently innovated in China. It is understood that the handheld terminal is a dual-mode system. In the future, users will be able to access the Internet anytime, anywhere, wherever the Wapi signal is covered. More importantly, this type of Internet access is safer. Currently, mobile phone manufacturers such as ZTE, Yulong, and gionee are developing mobile phones that Support WAPI, while WAPI and GSM dual-mode mobile phones will cover high, medium, and low grades. In September 24 of the same year, the Wapi Industry Alliance announced that the country's first WAPI demonstration network was officially launched at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, which means that Wapi began to accumulate commercial experience and prepare for commercial use.
