WAP Service
Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) is a globally unified open Protocol standard that provides Internet content and advanced value-added services to mobile terminals. The WAP service is a service that allows you to access the wap site directly through a mobile browser (for example, 3G Portal: wap.3g.net.cn ), various application services such as news browsing, stock query, email sending and receiving, online games, and chat are available. Activate the WAP mobile internet service. The wonderful online world will be in your hands anytime, anywhere. News and information, weather forecasts, stocks, entertainment games, flight queries, transportation, food information, dictionaries, foreign currencies, emails, and chats are all available for you.
WAP is based on existing Internet standards, such as TCP/IP, HTTP, XML, SSL, URL, and Scripting, the features of the wireless network are also optimized. The WAP Technology closely links the mobile network with the Internet and the company's LAN to provide a mobile value-added service that is relatively independent of the network type, operator and terminal device. Therefore, the implementation of mobile Internet requires the following three steps: WAP Gateway, WAP Content Server, and WAP mobile terminal (Figure 2-2 WAP System structure ). All this is very similar to the traditional www Service, but WAP supports mobile applications and is more convenient.
SMS Service
Short Message Service (SMS) is a wireless application for transmitting short messages on mobile networks. It is a process of storing and forwarding information on mobile networks. Simply put, text messages can be sent through mobile phones and other mobile devices. SMS creates a text segment on your phone and sends it to your friends. It is simple and easy to use. The length of this text message is limited to 140 bytes. SMS is welcomed by the masses with simple and convenient functions, but it is always the first generation of wireless data services, with restrictions on content and application technical standards. SMS adopts the storage and forwarding mechanism. The text message center in the mobile network is used instead of the end user to send data packets. If the user is not in the service area, the text message is stored in the text message center and sent to the user after the user appears, and adopt the Transfer Confirmation mechanism.
Currently, the short message service is generally divided into point-to-point short message service, group short message service, and value-added short message service. Point-to-Point SMS refers to the business form of sending and receiving text information between mobile terminals, which is the most common; A group text message means that an enterprise uses a computer to send notifications, information, and announcements to its employees or customers who own mobile phones at the same time. Employees or customers can use their mobile phones to obtain information from the database of an enterprise or an agency; value-added Service SMS refers to the customized or on-demand information or services that SP/CP sends to its customers. SMS-based value-added services are generally divided into three layers, as shown in 2-3.
Multimedia SMS MMS
MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) is a Multimedia short message Service, according to 3GPP standards (3GPP TS 23.140) and WAP Forum standards (WAP-206 and WAP-209) the latest business related to standard development of multimedia information. The multimedia text message service is supported by the GPRS network or the CDMA 2000 1X network to implement real-time transmission of multimedia information from the end-to-end mobile phone terminal to the Internet or from the Internet to the mobile phone terminal.
Technically, MMS is definitely not as simple as SMS. Some people in the industry regard it as a substitute for email, and some regard it as an electronic postcard, of course, it is more like multi-media SMS. Through MMS, mobile phones can send and receive multimedia text messages, including text, sound, images, videos, etc, MMS supports multimedia services such as mobile cards, mobile phone pictures, mobile screen saver, mobile phone maps, business cards, cartoons, and interactive videos. MMS can automatically and quickly transmit user-created content. It mainly uses the recipient's phone number for addressing and positioning, so that MMS communication can be performed between terminals. MMS also supports Email addressing, so information can be transmitted between the terminal and Email. The MMS standard does not specify the maximum capacity of a single MMS information, which is mainly used to ensure future interoperability and avoid the dilemma of SMS. Therefore, the MMS information size has nothing to do with the standard, but is only an operational problem. In addition, it also depends on the carrier's decision, such as whether they want to standardize the information size to facilitate billing.
Mobile email
As email is the most basic and important service on the Internet, more than 30% of Internet businesses are emails. Mobile Email receiving methods include pull, online browsing, and push.

2. In the online browsing mode, the user must log on to the mail server through the monthly P web page;
3. pushMail means that you only need to set the receiving rules (such as the sender and topic) on the mail server in advance. When the content of the new mail meets the previously set conditions, the email server directly sends a copy of the email to the user's device (such as a mobile phone), instead of actively or periodically initiating a check for the new email by the user (client.
