In all tests in the fully connected network environment, all 288 GE ports of the switch can forward the line rate between the ultra-long frames ranging from 9216-B. The average latency of 64-byte frames is 6.5 microseconds. This value is configured with a 10G (not G bit) Ethernet interface and runs at 10% line rate (both indicators will make the latency smaller) about half of the latency of a Cisco Catalyst 6509 device. In addition, the maximum latency is not much higher than the average latency, which means that the H3C/3Com Switch has the lowest jitter and provides more protection for real-time services.

In the layer-3 scalability test project, Network World creates an astonishing number of sessions and routes in the control plane, including 288 adjacent links (I .e. sessions), and releases more than 200000 routes, then, send traffic on all routes. The result is like the evaluation of the Layer 2 test. The H3C/3Com device once again passed all the tests with excellent performance. At the same time, 3Com/H3C routers have significant advantages in low power consumption. In a similar configuration, H3C/3Com vswitches only require 38% energy consumption of similar vswitches. At the end of the test report, Network World concluded: "in most fields, the H3C/3Com Switch shows the advantages of low energy consumption and high performance. 3Com will return with the heavyweight product ."
