Bug in Visual Studio 6.0: "Setup cannot create DCOM User Account" error message

When you run the Visual Studio 6.0 installer, you may receive the following error message:

The installer cannot create a DCOM user account to register <path> \ valec.exe

This first error message may be followed by two messages, indicating that the installation program failed.

The cause is visualstudioanalyzer, Which is Visual Studio 6.0. One of the products in enterpriseedition cannot create a local user account. It needs to run to the user security policy for Windows 2000 due to changes.

Solution re-install Visual Studio 6.0 without Visual Studio analyzer javasiseedition:

1.	Use custom installation,Visual Studio 6.0 enterprise-customPage,Enterprise Tools, In sequenceChange options.
2.	InVisual Studio 6.0 enterprise-Enterprise ToolsPage,Option, To ensureVisualstudioanalyzerThe check box is not selected.
3.	Click to select and install all other Visual Studio components, and then clickOK.
4.	ClickContinueAnd then follow the instructions.

To install visualstudioanalyzer:

1.	On the Control Panel, double-clickAdd/delete programsAnd then clickMicrosoft Visual Studio 6.0 Enterprise Edition.
2.	ClickChange/delete.
3.	On Visual Studio 6.0 enterprise installation, clickAdd/delete.
4.	InVisual Studio 6.0 enterprise-MaintenancePage, clickEnterprise ToolsAnd then clickChange options.
5.	InVisual Studio 6.0 enterprise-Enterprise ToolsPage,Option, ClickVisualstudioanalyzerAnd then clickOK.
6.	Visual Studio 6.0 enterprise-MaintenancePage, upContinue, Click, and then follow the instructions. When you receive an error message, the "symptoms" section describes how to continue the Visual Studio Installation Wizard. Installation report failed.

To create a local account, it will run as visualstudioanalyzer:

1.	Is to run Visual Studio Enterprise Edition 6.0 and create a local user on the computer. For how to create a local user, see Windows 2000 help.
2.	Run the Distributed COM configuration (dcomcnfg.exe ).
3.	InApplicationsTab, clickMsvsa local event concentrator classAnd then clickAttribute.
