Build a vmware7 + redhat enterprise 5.6 + oraclel Environment

For work reasons, a development environment such as question needs to be set up.

1. Use vmware to create virtual machines. There are many posts on the Internet that will not be discussed here.

The key is

In this step, select the first and third items, there is a big difference. Select the first item and select the installation image, VMWARE will automatically complete the installation process.

If the third item is selected, the virtual machine is created and then installed. The installation process is the same as that on the actual machine.

2. I chose the first option for the first installation. After installing the system, I encountered many problems during subsequent installation:

1) Hard Disk Partitions cannot meet requirements, so the new hard disk is attached.

Mounting process:

[Root @ localhost dev] # fdisk/dev/sdb

Device contains neither a valid DOS partition table, nor Sun, SGI or OSF disklabel
Building a new DOS disklabel. Changes will remain in memory only,
Until you decide to write them. After that, of course, the previous
Content won't be recoverable.

The number of cylinders for this disk is set to 2610.
There is nothing wrong with that, but this is larger than 1024,
And coshould in certain setups cause problems:
1) software that runs at boot time (e.g., old versions of LILO)
2) booting and partitioning software from other OSs
(E.g., dos fdisk, OS/2 FDISK)
Warning: invalid flag 0x0000 of partition table 4 will be corrected by w (rite)

After this takes effect, the partition will not be automatically mounted after the machine is restarted.
Add a row to/etc/fstab

During the process of adding a wrong letter, the system cannot be restarted. For specific solutions, see the next article.
2) the box is garbled after being replaced with Chinese characters.

I tried many methods on the Internet and failed to modify many configurations. It is a default option during installation, which may be caused by installation failure of some installation packages.
Solution 1: reinstall the VM. If the VM is not automatically installed, select Chinese as the language prompted during installation.
Solution 2: Install the rpm-ivh ttfonts-zh_CN-2.14-6.noarch.rpm
Rpm-ivh iiimf-le-chinput-0.3-16.i386.rpm -- aid
Rpm-ivh iiimf-x-12.1-10.EL.i386.rpm
Rpm-ivh iiimf-gnome-im-switcher-12.1-10.EL.i386.rpm

3. The above two problems will not occur after the system is installed in Non-automatic installation mode
