We have discussed how to install Wordpress. Next we need to familiarize ourselves with WordPress quickly and make some necessary basic settings.

1. Set personal data

2. Set General website options

3. Modify fixed links

Almost every website creation system allows you to set a fixed link style for a website, and WordPress is no exception.

The setting of fixed links is very important. Generally, after a website is launched, do not modify it at will. Otherwise, it will not only affect the indexing, improper processing, but may also lead to a direct K-site for the search engine!

Setting up a fixed link should comply with the "simple hierarchy" principle. Generally, do not use the first "default" style, or 2nd, 3, or 4. Currently, most users use the following types:

Among them, ① and ② are short and automatically generated, but some people care about the disconsecutive ID of the Article. For example, the ID of the first article is 3 and the ID of the second article is 13, this is caused by WordPress flag rules and automatic storage;

③ And ④ use the title of the article as a link with clear semantics. When someone else looks at the link, they will probably know what you are talking about in this article, which is also beneficial to Seo. For English and other languages, this is very convenient. However, when the Chinese title is used as a link, Chinese characters may be displayed as long garbled characters, or the link may fail to be opened. In this case, you can install a plug-in that is automatically translated into pinyin or English. However, if the article title is long and the link after translation is long, you can, manually delete the file, or simply enter it manually without installing the translation plug-in, just like advocate Meng.

In general, the hierarchical structure is simple and convenient for you to operate. Remember that after a website is launched, do not modify the fixed link style easily!

5. Image and upload settings

By default, each uploaded image will generate the images of the above specifications (see the text in the figure). If you do not need to generate multiple types of occupied space, you can set them to zero and save them.

Of course, this is a global setting. If some themes define image thumbnails in functions. php and need to be called in the topic, the thumbnails defined by the topic will still be generated. That is, the custom topic is higher than the default WordPress settings. However, in any case, changing the default value to 0 will not be wrong. Of course, if the topic author asks you to set other values here.
