Brief introduction
This white Paper series is designed to provide guidance on integration issues.
In this paper, we will illustrate the interoperability features of the Microsoft platform through the insurance case. As technology advances and new technologies continue to emerge, many companies may choose different technologies at various stages of enterprise development: from mainframe-based COBOL or FORTRAN-type traditional applications to more modern solutions based on. NET, Mobile, or Java, and all of the intermediate technologies. Therefore, with the increasingly complex technology used by enterprises, various technologies are facing more and more restrictions.
Insurance Interoperability Series
This white paper aims to provide guidance to architects facing the difficulties of integration in the insurance industry. This article will show you how to use Microsoft integration technology to integrate a variety of fundamentally differentiated systems into your enterprise. In addition, this document provides a useful design guide for building interoperability solutions with open standards such as ws-*. The following documents will also be included in this series:
Structure overview for building an interoperability insurance system
Ensuring security for insurance solutions
Analysis and operational management
Deploying Enterprise Solutions
Developing composite applications
The technologies covered include:
BizTalk 2006. The integration technology for this solution. The solution also uses BizTalk business rules and workflow orchestration capabilities.
Windows Communication Foundation (WCF). A programming model for developing WEB service messages and for managing protocol-level communications using the ws-* protocol.
Windows Workflow Foundation (WF). Used to create the right workflow with smart client technology.
SQL Server 2006. Repositories of all application and customer data.
Windows Server 2003. Server platform.
This case will give us a preliminary understanding of the business process. Like many other businesses, each insurance company has its own unique process approach. However, these enterprises have some similarities at the platform level. This means that we can leverage these shared platform services to build a service-oriented architecture (SOA) that provides greater flexibility for these organizations with specific business processes.
