The horizontal cable manager is mainly used for cable connections between adjacent units and devices in the cabinet. It has a combination of 1U and 2U, single-sided and double-sided cables, covered cables, and no-covered cables. Cables can be accessed from left and right, up and down, and some of them can also be used for frontend and backend access. The vertical cable manager is divided into two types: inside and outside the Cabinet. The internal vertical cable manager is mainly used to manage the cable connections between the upper and lower unit devices in the cabinet. Generally, it is equipped with a hinge door that can be opened between left and right.

Taking the VersaPOD cabinet of US Simon as an example, several instances of wiring and jumper management are selected to introduce the installation and use of the horizontal/vertical cable manager in the cabinet.

The main feature of the Versa POD cabinet is that when two or more cabinets are arranged as one system, the cabinet space forms a vertical wiring system. the four main structural columns of the cabinet are reduced to form a vertical channel of 178mm, which runs through the 45U height of the entire cabinet. The vertical wiring system allows cabling to be performed within the exclusive space of the server cabinet, providing additional installation space for the device. In a high-density network cabinet, you can set a cable slot channel to provide additional management space for the layout of jumper cables.

1 network Cabinet

Network cabinets are equipped with edge and core switches. Due to the high density of the Cabinet internal wiring, The 19''' distribution frame and standard optical fiber distribution box are installed on the top of the cabinet or in adjacent cabinets (when there are multiple switches in the Switch Cabinet ).

The vertical cable Rack (VP-VPC) contains a wiring manager for copper and optical fiber connections. The distribution frame is installed on the front end of the Cabinet and is usually wired on the front.

A low-density switch can be configured in a vertical cable rack, similar to a server cabinet.

For switches in a cabinet or rack-top switches, the shrinking column and the horizontal cable rack form a non-Accessibility wiring channel for each cabinet in the Cross column. This method can improve the port usage of the switch, reduce the number of switches required for the entire column.

2-center wiring area Cabinet

For users who need to install a centralized wiring area in a cabinet rather than an open rack, the Versa POD provides a solution for setting a dual density center wiring area in the cabinet. Both the front and back ends of VersaPOD can be installed with distribution frames, and jumper connections are provided for the front and back ends of the Cabinet. In this case, you must use a vertical cable rack with a manager. Due to the backward shrinking column, jumper wiring can extend to other cabinets in the left and right directions behind the door. In this case, we recommend that you install a proper horizontal cable rack at the same height of each cabinet to facilitate horizontal cable extension of the Cabinet.

3. Server Cabinet

Server cabinets are usually equipped with blade servers or rack servers (also known as the pizza box server). The calculation rule of the cabling port capacity is that the server usually contains two network connections (usually copper interfaces) of the master and slave nodes) and the primary and secondary storage network connections (usually optical fiber) and one or two ports used for in-band or out-of-band management. You can also configure another copper interface for another keyboard, mouse, and video connection (KVM. Vertical wiring space management the above connections ensure that the cables do not prevent fan exhaust at the back of the server. When the wiring density is low, the vertical distribution frame and the vertical distribution frame can provide two adjacent cabinets at the same time.

The vertical distribution frame (VPP) of a server cabinet is usually installed at the rear of the Cabinet. Management on both sides of the vertical distribution frame can be used to manage data lines and power lines respectively.

4 Storage Area Network Cabinet

The storage area network (SAN) Cabinet can use copper or optical fiber, but in most cases it is an optical fiber, usually very high density, used to connect storage devices or storage directors (SAN switches ). The maximum optical fiber density in the vertical distribution area of VersaPOD provides the best cabling channel for optical fiber connections. In the vertical cable management frame, you can flexibly select a position and install Simon's patented 1/4 rotating fixed cable ring or fiber winding column to properly fix the fiber jumper and pre-connection cable, and ensure the correct bending radius.
