Cainiao for help! Why can't I ping the Internet through the Intranet?

The organization is assigned an IP address to our experimental group. now I want to build a linux server, which contains the 6/7 computers in the experiment group. I used a computer with a dual-nic and installed RHAS4 on it as a linux platform. I wanted to establish a DCP-based Internet access service. --------- functional requirements are very simple. eth0 is connected to the Internet, and eth1 is connected to the Intranet.
This is what I did. By default, RH is installed, and the parameters of the two NICs have been set during installation (this is absolutely no problem ). after the system is installed, connect to the Internet network, and the linux server can access the Internet normally. I have made DHCP configuration below (it should be okay ). na me d adopts the default configuration. modified rc. local script (two statements are added:/sbin/route add-host route 255.255.255.255 deveth0 and
Echo 1>/proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward.
Then, I restarted on another windows server on the client. The ping to 192.168.1.1 (linux Server) was successful, and it was okay to ping the computer on the linux server. the server can be pinged to the Internet gateway. however, the Internet gateway cannot be pinged on the windows server of the client !!! Why?
In the windows client ipconfig/all, the dhcp dsn information can be displayed. However, there is a media state... media disconnected.
I checked the routing information of the server and windows, both of which are normal (compared with other normal servers ). my requirement is very simple, that is, linux can forward other computers to the Internet, and there is no high requirement for DNS. where is the problem? What should I do?
