The direct network is divided into two types, point-to-point link and multiple access link,

For a network number of direct connected network, the above two kinds of link to calculate. Examples are as follows:

1. How many directly-connected networks is there on the route from host A to host B in the following figure?

We will mark the point-to-point link between AB and multiple Access link:

Among them, the Red square box is multiple access link, the blue box is point-to-point link.

So, the answer is naturally 2+1=3. (where 2 is the AB Multiple access link number, 1 is the AB Point-to-Point link number)
