Can 'tchownnewleasefile: Operationnotpermitted

Centos6.5 when DHCP is enabled, the following error occurs: Cantchownnewleasefile: Operationnotpermitted.

When you use centos 6.5 to install DHCP, all the configurations are OK. However, when you start the service, the error message "Can't chown new lease file: Operation not permitted" cannot be started properly,

You need to modify one more configuration in 6.5 as follows:

 

Edit the/etc/rc. d/init. d/dhcpd file

User = dhcpd

Group = dhcpd

Change

User = root

Group = root

 

Note: If this modification is not done, the "Can't chown new lease file: Operation not permitted" error will appear in the "/var/log/messages" file when DHCP is started.
