Canonical CEO Jane Silber just said that the company is negotiating with a number of Android OEM partners, so we are expected to soon welcome a variety of new Ubuntu Phone products. Up to now, there are only four mobile phones officially supporting the Ubuntu Touch operating system, namely Nexus 4, BQ Aquaris e4.5, BQ Aquaris E5 HD, and meizu MX4, both of them can only be obtained through second-hand channels.
A new tablet from BQ is expected to arrive in a few months, but the Canonical marketing strategy is too low-key, considering that only fans of Ubuntu OS can be confused, instead of overwhelming ordinary users who do not know anything about the system.
However, currently, since Canonical is ready to be pushed to other partners, it means that the operating system has become more powerful and stable enough to cope with the daily use of ordinary users.
In an interview with The Register, Jane Silber said: "We regularly communicate with them (Android OEM partners), many of which will ship Ubuntu phones, they are very interested in supporting the platform ".
