CD commands under Windows

Learn about the concept of drive and character

• Drive: Refers to a storage area formatted with a drive letter, which can be a hard disk, a floppy disk, a CD-ROM, and a USB stick.
• Drive letter: Is hard disk, floppy disk, CD-ROM, USB stick on the computer to display the disc symbols, such as the computer's C:,D:,E:,F: such as the letter, which according to your computer partition situation command.

About the CD command

　　CDs can also be written as chdir(change directory, changing directories) to display the current directory name and change the current directory name.

Window s+r key to open cmd to the command window, the default current drive directory is the system current user root directory.

The current root directory is:C:\Users\zhouk

　　

The default current directory for each drive is the root directory, and once the directory of the drive changes, the changed directory will default to the current directory of the drive. Drive directory changes only work for this CMD operation, after turning off cmd, the drive default current directory is still the root directory.

CD [drive:] [path] changes the current directory of the Drives

Change the drive first, then use the CD command to modify the directory

1. c:users\zhouk>d: Change the drive so that the current drive D disk, as the root directory
2. D:\>CD Test changes the current directory
3. D:\test>

CD [/d] [drive:] [path] changes the current directory of current drives and drives

1. c:\users\zhouk>cd/d D:\Test The current drive is the D Disk, and the current directory is:Test
