You can install CentOS in text mode. At this time, the system prompts whether to scan the installation media (CD) to prevent installation failure due to bad blocks. If the disc is of good quality or is installed in VPS, scanning is unnecessary. Skip.

 

The system prompts that Chinese cannot be used, because it is a graphical installation interface and can only be used in English. It doesn't matter. just continue.

Set the keyboard layout. select the standard US keyboard.

 

If the system is installed for the first time, the system will prompt that the disk will be initialized and all data will be lost. OK.

 

On the partition selection page, select the first one, that is, "delete all partitions and create a standard default partition scheme", and then click OK next.

 

Several dialog boxes will pop up, prompting you to delete the data. OK.

 

On this page, the solution for partitioning is displayed. Follow the prompts and press F12 to confirm.

 

Start to install the Grub boot tool. Use the grub boot tool. OK.

 

Configure the Grub boot loader and click OK next.

 

Set the Grub password here. If your CentOS is a server environment, it is not recommended to set a password in Grub. Otherwise, the password is required during each restart.

 

Set the disk partition for Grub installation. just confirm it.

 

Now, set the network and select yes. The following steps are used to configure whether to use DHCP or manually set IP addresses. Set as needed

 

After a burst of crazy settings, go to the hostname settings interface. If your computer domain name is www.abc.com, the host name is www. Leave it blank if your computer does not have a domain name.

 

Set the time zone. Select shanghai or chongqing. No beijing ~

 

Start setting the root user password. The root user must set a password to ensure system security. it is better to set a password more complex.

 

Then you will be asked to select the installed components. If it is a personal computer, choose Gnome. if it is a server environment, there is no need to install a graphical interface and remove all of it. After confirmation, the installer prompts that the installation is about to begin and saves the installation log to the/root/install. log file.

 

The installation is officially started.

 

After the installation is complete, the system prompts that the system is about to restart. please remove the installation disc.

So far, the CentOS system has been installed. Click reboot to restart the computer. In this case, you need to remove the installation disc or set the VPS to start from the hard disk.

Start CentOS and log on to the system. CentOS will bring up an initial setting interface for simple system configuration. After completion,

Log in as root and execute:

Yum update

Update the system. Updating the system may take much longer than installing the system. wait patiently.
