centos5.5 installation rar

Download the latest version of RAR to http://www.rarsoft.com/download.htm, then unzip
[Root@centos soft]# TAR-XVF rarlinux-3.9.1.tar.gz

Go to directory Installation
[Root@centos soft]# cd rar
[Root@centos rar]# make
Mkdir-p/usr/local/bin
Mkdir-p/usr/local/lib
CP rar Unrar/usr/local/bin
CP Rarfiles.lst/etc
CP Default.sfx/usr/local/lib

Description The installation was successful, but there was an error in running RAR
[Root@centos rar]# rar
RAR:/lib/i686/nosegneg/libc.so.6:version ' glibc_2.7 ' not found (required by RAR)

is static mischief.
[Root@centos rar]# CP Rar_static/usr/local/bin/rar
CP: Do you want to overwrite "/usr/local/bin/rar"? Y
Try the RAR command again
[Root@centos rar]# rar
