Uninstall the low version of MySQL first

Yum Remove mysql*

RPM-IVH http://repo.mysql.com/mysql-community-release-el6.rpm

Yum Install Mysql-server

After the installation is successful

Service mysqld Restart

If it is a new installation, MySQL will initialize the database itself, run the Modify root password command after successful startup

mysqladmin-u root password ' new-password '

If you are upgrading the installation, run the Upgrade database command

Mysql_upgrade-u root-p * * *

and then

Service mysqld Restart

Restarting the server can make
