CentOS7.1 system installation tutorial

This time, the CentOS Linux platform is installed through the VMwareWorkstation11 virtual software to meet basic experimental requirements. Create a directory for storing the CentOS guest system; 2. open VMwareWorkstation11, click the & ldquo; file & rdquo; option-& gt; & rdquo; create VM & rdquo;, and a wizard is displayed;

This time, the CentOS Linux platform is installed through the VMware Workstation 11 virtual software to meet basic experimental requirements.

1. Create a directory for storing the CentOS guest system;

2. open VMware Workstation 11, click "file" option-> "new virtual machine" in the menu, and a wizard is displayed;

3. select "custom (advanced)" and click next;

4. Considering the VMware Workstation hardware compatibility version, you can adjust the version suitable for your use in the "select virtual machine hardware compatibility" window;

5. to install the guest system, select "install the operating system later ";

6. do not make a mistake when setting the number of bits for the corresponding operating platform. Otherwise, the guest system cannot be installed or started. (PS: We have installed CentOS 64-bit platform for Linux Distribution, therefore, we choose the customer's operating system "Linux", and the version can be "CentOS 64-bit" or "RedHat Enterprise Linux 5 64-bit ");

7. the "virtual machine name" is identified and can be defined as needed. Remember a name that is easy to remember and easy to distinguish. Change "location" to the folder created before;

8. set "number of CPUs and number of cores per CPU". Be sure not to exceed the actual indicators of computer hardware;

9. set "virtual machine memory" (generally by default). Be sure not to exceed the actual indicators of computer hardware;

10. set "network type". you can select the network configuration feature based on your actual needs. Here we select "Bridge Mode".

11. set "I/O controller type" (default is generally selected );

12. set "virtual disk type" (recommended generally );

13. select "which disk to use", "create new virtual hard disk", or "existing virtual hard disk ", you can also select "use the hard disk of the host machine" (which can speed up data reading and writing). here we choose the default value;

14. set the "disk size" and use the recommended value or custom value, as for the following "allocate all disk space immediately" (It helps you immediately allocate the set disk space to the virtual machine, and the size of the disk space is huge, of course, if your disk is large enough), if you do not select this option, the disk space will increase with the increase of data;

15. check the file name and file type of the virtual machine disk;

16. the complete "create virtual machine configuration list" is displayed. of course, you can select "custom hardware" or add or remove some hardware devices on the virtual machine page of VMware Workstation, to meet your needs for building an environment;

17. you still remember that when we install the guest system in the "New Virtual Machine Wizard" step, the installation disk is not loaded, that is, the virtual machine has no operating system. Click "CD/DVD (IDE)" in "edit virtual machine settings) "Set to load the OS ISO image file or directly use the host drive to install the system (We generally recommend that you load the ISO system image file). pay special attention to whether to check" connection at startup "in" device status;

18. Generally, you need to adjust the computer BIOS settings before installing the system, such as Disable or changing the boot sequence. There are two ways to enter the virtual machine BIOS;

• Click "virtual machine" option-> "power"-> "Enter the firmware when the power is turned on"

• After starting the virtual machine, press F2 to enter the BIOS

19. adjust BIOS configurations;

20. OK. after the configuration is complete, CentOS 7. x can be installed normally. for a simple startup screen, choose "Install CentOS 7" to go to the installation interface;

21. select the language used during installation, and select "simplified Chinese" to continue;

22. the following "installation information summary" includes date and time source, keyboard and language, installation source, software selection, installation location, NETWORK & HOSTNAME, and other settings, CentOS 7. x Installation Wizard interface structure is obvious with CentOS 6. x is very different. it looks like the interface is centralized to facilitate user changes;

23. make modifications as required. First, click "installation location" to go to the disk partition page and divide its virtual disks to set multiple mount points, such as/root directory, file directory used during/boot system boot,/home other user folders,/var for storing frequently changed folders, and swap partitions;

Plan the disk partition in advance as follows:

/Boot 200 MB

Swap 2 GB is better than 1.5 to 2 times of physical memory

/Home 10 GB

/20 GB

24. select "Partition" for "other storage options"> "I want to configure partitions" and click "finish" in the upper left corner to go to the following interface;

25. start creating a partition;

26. set "software selection" (minimum installation by default). select the "servers with GUI" environment and select all "additional options" on the right;

27. set "NETWORK & host name" and change "Host Name" to your desired NAME;

28. after completing the settings, click "Start Installation ";

29. go to the next page and select "user settings" to set the ROOT super user password to enhance the security level;

30. return to the previous page and select "user settings" to create a user for permission control;

31. click "finish" and return to the previous page again. a total of 1837 packages need to be installed.
