Change the SharePoint site port in the TFS Project

In the initial configuration of TFS, the company intranet is used. Due to the company's network security restrictions, the host cannot be published on the Internet. After the application by the department, only port 80 is published, change the port of the TFS server to this port. The port 80 used by the SharePoint website associated with the project can only be changed to another port. But the problem arises.After changing to another port, the project website cannot continue to use! This makes TFs a lot of trouble. The previous project documents cannot be viewed, and tasks, bugs, and other work items cannot be viewed on the SharePoint site and team web access.

To solve this problem, two methods are proposed:

Method 1: Create a Sharepoint application and add a new website set. Direct the existing project website to the new website set (create a new project website.

When using this method, use the new database and rebind the website on the project. However, the work item cannot be viewed, and the previous documents cannot be recovered.

Method 2: Change the port of the existing TFs-related SharePoint Application website set (implemented by extending the web application ).

The advantage of this method is that you can continue to use existing data, including documents and work items. This method is also thought of when method 1 cannot continue execution. The procedure is as follows (because ):

Step 1.Expand existing Web applications (added)

Procedure2.Choose team Foundation server console> change URL ". In the pop-up window, change the notification URL and server URL to the new TFs server address (In addition, change port 8080 to port 80), and click test to change it.

Procedure3.Select "SharePoint product extension"-> "modify access permission" on the left ". In the displayed window, change the URL of the team Foundation server to a new URL. Save close

Procedure4.Select "Application Layer"> "SharePoint web application"> "change" on the left ". In the pop-up window, change the web application URL to the expanded website in (1. Save and close.

Procedure5.Select "Team Project set"> "Edit default site location" on the left and change it to the expanded website. On the General tab, check whether the defaultcollection URL (the access path of TFs) has been changed to port 80.

Procedure6.Select "Application Layer"> "re-apply account" on the left to make the above changes take effect.

 

After performing the preceding operations, reconnect to TFs and browse the portal. OK! Everything works.

PS: Because TFS has been being used for a long time, the above operation takes more than a day to complete (in fact, in the process of method 1, I have not found any results for a day ), in addition, the record is started only after the operation is completed.
