In earlier versions of PowerPoint, the slides were in the shape of a square (4:3). Many of the world's TVs and videos are already in widescreen and HD formats, as are PowerPoint. The default slide size is now widescreen (16:9). You can change the slide size in the following ways: PPT background picture www.1ppt.com

Note When PowerPoint cannot automatically scale the content, it prompts you with two options:
Maximize: Select this option to increase the size of the slide content as you zoom to a larger slide size . Selecting this option may cause your content to not be displayed on the slide.
Make sure it fits: Select this option to reduce the size of the slide's content as you zoom to a smaller slide size . This may make your content appear smaller, but you'll be able to see everything on the slide.
Note You can also change the slide size to a custom dimension. To do this, on the Design tab , click Slide Size , and then click Custom Slide Size .
In the slide size box, set the height and width dimensions as well as the orientation.
Set the 4:3 aspect ratio to the default size of the slide
If you want to continue using the 4.3 aspect ratio, you can set it as the default slide size. The working mode is as follows: PPT background picture www.1ppt.com
