Dialing on the Digital Line of ADSL is different from dialing on a modem on a analog telephone line. However, a dedicated protocol PPP over Ethernet is used. After dialing, it is directly verified by the Verification server, you must enter the user name and password. After the verification is passed, a high-speed user number is created and the Corresponding Dynamic IP address is allocated. A virtual dial-up user needs to use a user account and password to verify his/her identity. This user account is the same as the 163 account, and is selected by the user upon application, and this account is limited, it can only be used for ADSL virtual dialing and cannot be used for common MODEM dialing.
ADSL leased line access
It is another type of ADSL access method. Unlike the virtual dialing method, it adopts a connection method similar to a leased line. After the user connects to and configures the adsl modem, set the corresponding TCP/IP protocol and network parameters in the network settings of your PC (the IP address, mask, and gateway are allocated by the local terminal in advance, the client and the local server automatically establish a link. Therefore, the leased line access mode of ADSL is similar to a leased line with fixed IP addresses and automatic connections. Of course, its speed is much faster than that of some low-speed leased lines.
PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE) Protocol
PPPoE is a technology that broadcasts PPP frame information in the Ethernet. Generally, PPP (point-to-point protocol) is used to connect to the ISP through telephone lines and ISDN dialing. This protocol supports user authentication and IP address notification. In ADSL, PPPoE is used to connect an ADSL Modem to a home PC or router.
PPP over ATM (PPPoA) Protocol
Using the PPPoA access technology, the PC terminal directly initiates a PPP call. After the user-side ATM 25 Nic receives the PPP package from the upper layer, according to RFC2364 encapsulation standard, the PPP package is encapsulated in AAL5 layer to form an ATM Cell stream. ATM cells are transmitted to the broadband access server on the network side through the ADSL Modem to complete a series of PPP access processes, such as authorization, authentication, IP Address allocation, and billing.
Enternet 300 (Enternet100 Enternet500)
PPPoE software developed by Efficient Network in the United States, which provides the PPPoE protocol for ADSL to complete virtual dial-up Internet access
WinPoET
PPPoE software developed by WindRiver in the United States provides the PPPoE protocol for ADSL to complete virtual dial-up Internet access.
RasPPPoE
PPPoE software developed by a German individual provides the PPPoE protocol of ADSL for virtual dial-up Internet access.
Upstream
Transfers information from the user's computer to the network
Downstream
Allows you to browse and download WWW webpages at a maximum rate of 8 Mbps.
Splitter Separator
The adsl modem user separates the front-end devices for voice and ADSL Network signals in the telephone line, and sends the signals to different telephone devices (telephones, fax machines, etc.) and ADSL MODEMsynchronization for synchronization respectively.
The ADSL Network signal connection process between the ADSL client and the local end. After the two sides establish a connection (synchronous), The ADSL can be used.
VPI (Virtual Path Identifier)
VCI (Virtual Channel Identifier)
VCI and VPI are signs that DSLAM identifies various ATM terminals (ADSL lines.
