Chinese Windows xp/2003 Disk Scan Tool

Users who have used Windows XP know that a disk scan of Windows XP can only be done on boot, but is there anything you can't do to face the full screen of English? In fact, the disk scan of Windows 2000/xp/2003 can display Chinese completely.

1. Scan only not fix

We right-click any drive name in Explorer, select Properties, go to the Tools tab, click the Start Check button to open the dialog box shown in the picture. If you do not check any of the repair options, even a scan of the system partition can be done in a Windows environment, with a Chinese hint. This is equivalent to entering "Chkdsk x:" (x is the drive letter symbol) in the start → run or command line prompt.

2. Repair parameters and options corresponding relationship

If you check "Automatically fix file system errors" in the scan dialog shown in the figure, it is equivalent to adding the "/F" parameter to the chkdsk command, and checking "scan and attempting to repair bad sectors" is equivalent to adding the "/r" parameter. where the "/F" parameter fixes a file error on the disk, and the "/r" parameter finds bad sectors and restores readable information. Both of these operations must lock the disk, and for the system partition, because Windows occupies system files, it cannot lock the disk on which the system resides, and normally only scan the disk before the next reboot, before entering Windows. If you transfer some system files (such as virtual memory) to other partitions, the partition will not be able to perform a disk scan operation with repair capabilities.

3. Repair Scan Culture

If you want to perform a disk scan of the system partition with a repair feature, you will also need to do so in the Recovery Console if you are prompted in Chinese. The Recovery Console installation method is no longer detailed and only describes how to use the related commands.

Disk Scan Options

When you go to the Recovery Console, select the ordinal of the partition on which the system resides, enter the administrator password (if not, direct return), and then enter "Chkdsk D: r" at the command prompt to scan the D disk. The system first lists the serial number of the volume and displays the percentage of the scan progress, listing the total amount of space and free space for the partition at the end of the scan. The entire scanning process always displays the Chinese prompt, is convenient enough!

Parameter meaning:

Chkdsk [Drive] Specifies the drive, and if not specified, the default is the drive on which the system resides;

/V on Fat/fat32, displays the full path and name of each file on the disk;

/R looks for problematic sectors, recovers readable information (implied/p, that is, scans are performed even if the drive is not in the check range). This parameter does not make any changes to the drive. 

Tip Install the Recovery Console as a startup option by inserting the installation CD into the CD-ROM drive while Windows is running. Then click "Start → run" and enter "X\i386\winnt32." Exe/cmdcons "After the return, and then follow the prompts to operate." X represents the CD-ROM drive letter or the Windows XP installation folder path copied to the hard disk, such as "E\WINXP".
