Christmas and Shirley's entry visa

There are lots of public holidays in Singapore in recent days, 20th dec. 2007 is Hari Raya Haji, A Muslims holiday. 25th dec. 2007 is the Christmas Day. and between the 20th and 25th, there is a weekend. but I never think there is too much holidays, work less, earn more is probably the dream of all of us.
Today, before the Christmas Day, I went to the ICA (Immigration & Checkpoints Authority) to collect Shirley's entry visa, before this, I have done the on-line website application and got the approve letter. this e-service really save me much time, after completing the on-line application table, and pay 20 SD by my debit card, within one work day, I have Ed a approve letter from ICA. as for the collecting location, I choose Singapore, so I can go to the ICA to collect Shirley's entry visa, avoided the trouble to go to the embassy of Singapore in China, and there is no Singapore Embassy in Wuhan. the ICA building is at Lavender, only 3 MRT station away from Paya lebar where my office located.
There shoshould be a local ser for Shirley to get the approve letter, and the specified ser shoshould be a singapre citizen or PR (permanent residents), fortunately, my colleage zhouhao was willing to do me a favor to be the SER, he is a PR.
But I am not lucky enough to get Shirley's entry visa today. I did't bring zhouhao's original IC (identity card) but the photocopy, after nearly 2 hour's waiting in the tickit queue, the officer of the ICA asked me to provide the local contact's original Singapore IC. I tried to explain but it made no difference. the officer is a Malay women, speaking Singapore English, nearly can not understand what she is saying, not to mention my poor spoken English. horrible to speak English with Singaporean, need more practice. i'll go to the ICA on 26th, after the public holiday of 25th.
