Cisco combined with Microsoft to reduce data center complexity and accelerate customer revenue generation

Cisco and Microsoft announced today that they will combine Cisco's unified data center architecture with Microsoft Fast Track architecture solutions to help customers reduce complexity, increase IT efficiency, and increase business flexibility. Cisco and Microsoft have also developed development plans for solutions that have been jointly verified by both parties, it aims to help channel partners that deploy Cisco data centers and Microsoft cloud operating system technologies at the same time to expand their data center businesses and better solve customer problems.

· Cisco Unified Data Center Technology and Microsoft Fast Track 3.0 architecture solutions reduce the complexity of data centers, help simplify deployment and operation, and increase production efficiency.

· Microsoft Fast Track 3.0 solutions reduce complexity and increase production efficiency by simplifying the management of Cisco and Microsoft combined data center environments. They allow enterprises to configure data center resources more quickly, thus enhancing business flexibility. In addition, by supporting Microsoft customers' use programs to access Cisco Unified Computing System (Cisco UCS ), cisco also provides customers with deep insight and comprehensive control over how Cisco Unified Data Center components work with Windows Server and application software.

Technical Innovation:

By combining the Cisco Nexus 1000V series (a comprehensive and scalable Virtual and cloud network platform) with Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V Extensible Switch and System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2012 SP1, customers who want to virtualize specific parts of their data center networks will be able to achieve their goals while using physical networks and cloud computing infrastructure.

Cisco UCS combines powerful open UCMS Manager APIs and the Cisco PowerTool utility for Microsoft PowerShell with System Center 2012 SP1 Management and Supply tools. On this basis, the customer can supply, configure, coordinate and control physical and virtual infrastructure and Windows Server and application software at all levels.

With the Cisco UCS Management Pack for System Center 2012 SP1 Operations Manager, customers can control and manage their Cisco Unified Data centers on a single interface.

Provides a run manual for the Cisco UCS Integration Pack for System Center 2012 SP1 Orchestrator to help customers improve operational efficiency and manage Cisco UCS in a consistent and scalable manner.

The Cisco ucs ui extension for System Center 2012 SP1 Virtual Machine Manager allows you to centrally manage Cisco UCS by using the Cisco UCS management control feature from System Center Virtual Machine Manager.

Microsoft Fast Track 3.0 solution: Cisco provides a new solution for Microsoft Fast Track, enabling customers to choose Cisco and EMC (VSPEX complete infrastructure ), or use the Integrated Reference Architecture of Cisco and NetApp (FlexPod. Both architectures are validated against the Microsoft Private Cloud Fast Track 3.0 program and support Windows Server 2012 and System Center 2012 SP1.

The VSPEX solution for Microsoft Private Cloud Fast Track 3.0 provides a simple, fully integrated, and rapidly deployed Microsoft Private Cloud, allows customers to easily manage the applications necessary for their enterprise operations.

FlexPod using Microsoft private cloud provides a turnkey platform jointly designed by NetApp and Cisco. Built on a set of well-defined hardware and software, the platform supports an infrastructure as a service (IaaS) environment based on the Microsoft platform. This solution perfectly integrates Microsoft System Center 2012 SP1 with PowerShell and provides excellent management, automation, and coordination capabilities to support efficient and fast deployment of services and applications.
