Cisco Catalyst Switch Password recovery strategy

If the switch login password is forgotten, don't worry, as long as you have a PC, there are similar HyperTerminal (Hyper Terminal) This is a terminal program, connected to the switch console port, then the password recovery is n simple.

1. For the Catalyst 2900/3500XL series:

Disconnect the power cable from the switch, and then press and hold the switch mode button and reseat the switch's power cable. Release the mode button until the port 1x led is off.

It's so simple, don't tell me you don't know where the mode button is,-_-#.

2. For the Catalyst 2940/2950L series:

Disconnect the power cable from the switch, and then press and hold the switch mode button and reseat the switch's power cable. Release the mode button until the stat LED is off.

3. For the Catalyst 2955 series:

Catalyst 2955 does not have an external mode button, so it is not possible to use the previous method for password recovery. When the switch starts, press the Ctrl+break key for the Windows family PC and press CTRL + C for the UNIX series workstation.
