Cisco introduced the ISO modular translation to run its Catalyst 6500 series switches, marking the continued technological advancement of the IOS-XR exchange router system into an enterprise hub.
The new software for the Catalyst 6500 switch was released last month. It is the most widely installed switch module platform. According to comments, it allows programs to start and stop independent processes, protocols, and services, such as FTP and IPv6, when the exchange is off. Solved a problem that has long plagued users familiar with the ISO system. The software status can only be "on" or "Off ". The interface is similar to the operating system of Unix devices. In the past, ISO was used as a single image or a large code block, and upgrades or even detailed adjustments were interrupted.
IOS-XR is Cisco's next-gen operating system for its new flagship CRS-1 router. It is said that it fully meets the operator's zero-service business requirements. Fortunately, Cisco recognizes that most of the large enterprises running the Catalyst 6500 series exchange actually need not much.
