1. vswitch Configuration

Each vswitch has a Console port called a control port. The Console port is an asynchronous serial port used to connect to the configuration terminal. Its Interface Standard is RJ-45. You can connect the vswitch to the configuration terminal through the Console port to configure the vswitch on the configuration terminal.

① Configuration preparation: when using the Console port to configure the switch, you need to prepare a computer that can provide a Super Terminal as the configuration terminal; it also requires a signal cable Console line from the manufacturer's RJ-45 to a asynchronous serial interface of 9 or 25 pins ).

② Connect the configuration terminal with the vswitch to power the switch.

③ In the terminal configuration, set the relevant parameter: direct connection, select port COM), transmission rate: 9600, data bit: 8 bits, stop bit: 1 bits.

2) use telnet to configure a vswitch analog Terminal)

Telnet is a common method for remote device management. Any computer on the internet can remotely log on to the vswitch as long as the permission permits, and configure it as a simulated terminal.

3) Use a browser to configure a vswitch

You can use a browser to view the running status of the vswitch, configure the vswitch, or modify the parameters of the vswitch to manage it.

Prerequisites:

① Network connectivity

② The switch supports and starts the HTTP service

③ A Web browser supporting Java must be installed on the computer

④ The computer must be downloaded and follow the Java-plugin

⑤ User accounts and passwords that must have management permissions on the vswitch

In the main menu of the CSM network management interface of a Cisco switch, you can complete a series of network management tasks, such as port configuration, VLAN configuration, and viewing switch running status.
