We know that the BIOS password is divided into two types, the user password and the system password, the former is used when setting up the BIOS, and the latter is required before the self-test input. Because the system password is cleared, only two methods are known to date: The first, of course, is the discharge, the second, is to find the manufacturer's default password .... (also mentioned below).

1. The most common and simplest method of--debug method

In general, the computer's CMOS settings can be accessed and changed through 70H and 71H two ports, the simplest way is to clear them all, which becomes the default settings. The following program section is to use the debug command to clean up the CMOS data, debug is a dos external command, you can find it in the Windowscommand directory, start the computer to the MS-DOS environment, enter debug under the DOS hint symbol and return, # The process is as follows:

This method requires opening the chassis and finding the CMOS battery to discharge it. In fact, most motherboards now have jumpers or dip switches for the discharge of CMOS batteries, usually finding that jumper or switch, and switching on for a few seconds or a few seconds on the switch is OK. If your motherboard is an old motherboard, there is no CMOS battery discharge jumper or dip switch, or you can not find the motherboard manual, do not know which group is the CMOS battery discharge jumper, then you simply pull down the CMOS battery, connect bare pin 1 minutes or so (in fact, a few seconds on it, But some articles say it takes 1 hours .... Sweat..... is to let the CMOS for a long time without power supply, let it automatically clear the content) on the line.

3. Rely on software to achieve .... (This is online search ...)

With software such as PCTools and Norton, it is easy to clear the CMOS password. Here are two simple examples:

1.BOOTSAFE (BootSafe. EXE can be found in PCTools 9.0)

Run the BootSafe c:/m to back up the CMOS information and boot area information to a blank floppy disk, Form Cmos.cps and Cboot.cps two text files, and then use Edit and the like editor will Cmos.cps arbitrarily modify some content, save with the disk to start, run BootSafe c:/r, the system will ask whether to restore the CMOS data from the floppy disk (answer YES) and whether to recover partitioned table data from a floppy disk (answer No), and finally reboot, at which time everything in the CMOS has been cleared.

2.RESCUE (RESCUE can be found in Norton 8.0)

Use Norton's rescue function to make an emergency disk, also use Edit and the like editor to arbitrarily modify the contents of the CMOS.DAT file in the emergency disk, save and start with the emergency disk. Then run the RESCUE.EXE in the emergency disk, select the recovery CMOS information (CMOS infomation) in item to restore, and reboot after completion, can achieve the purpose.

3.BiosPwds (can be downloaded from major software stations)

Biopwds can make it easy for you to know the BIOS password. It is also quite simple to use, after running this tool will have the use of the Biospwds tool interface, just press the interface on the "get passwords", wait two or three seconds will be displayed in the BIOS information on the Biospwds interface, including: BIOS version, BIOS date, use password, etc. , you will be able to easily learn the BIOS password.

6. Change the configuration of the hardware

When the microcomputer starts, the cured BIOS program first checks whether the hardware configuration of the machine is consistent with the parameters set in the CMOS. When there is a conflict or inconsistency, the Setup Setup program is automatically entered after power-on, without the need to enter a password. Using this principle, we can open the chassis, change a hardware configuration to achieve the effect of automatic password removal. The steps are as follows:

(1) Open the chassis, change the original configuration of the machine, such as to unplug the sound card or floppy data cable disconnect.

(2) Restart the computer, the machine automatically enters the setup program, you can reset the CMOS password.

(3) After resetting the CMOS password, press F10 to save the settings and restart the machine for the settings to take effect.
