When you use Excel to handle large amounts of data, you often encounter duplicate data, although we carefully and carefully check, but errors are unavoidable. This problem can be easily solved in Excel 2007.
1, data input to avoid duplication
In entering the student number, ID number and other data, we can be resolved by the following methods:
(1) First select the fixed area for which you want to enter data, such as the A2:a10 cell range, and then open the Start tab, and in the conditional Formatting Drop-down menu, select Highlight cell rule → duplicate value (see figure I).
(2) Opens the Duplicate Value dialog box, where you can define the color of the data in the repeating cell, such as red (figure II), to be validated.
In this way, when you inadvertently enter the duplicate data, the current cell will immediately become red, give you a hint.
2. Easily remove duplicate data
If a lot of data has been entered, then we need to find the same data and delete it. Select the range of cells that you want to remove duplicates from, and then switch to the Data tab and click Delete Duplicates in the toolbar, and the Delete Duplicates dialog box opens (Figure III). Once confirmed, all duplicates in the specified range are purged once.
