How to index notes is a big problem, especially for editors with poor search support such as Emacs Org. I have also discussed Emacs full-text search method introduction before. If you are using a Windows 7 operating system, you can use the Windows 7 index mechanism to conveniently retrieve your note directories, the specific method is as follows:
- Right-click a folder and select "include to library" to add the current directory to an index library;
Like me, I pulled all the notes from Emacs ORG and OneNote, so that the search would not suffer any losses.
- In "include to library", if you want to create a new library to organize documents of a specific topic, click "create database ".
- When you need to search your notes in the future, you only need to search in this library to get what you want. On the left of the file browser, there will be a "library" folder category, click it to perform any operation.
I don't know if Windows 7 supports some basic regular expressions and semantic search operations such as "trace + MFC" during database search.
For FAQs about Windows 7 index, refer to Microsoft's official documentation, which is very powerful.
