A floating toolbar is a very human feature in Word 2010, and when the text in a Word 2010 document is selected, a semitransparent-state floating toolbar appears if the user moves the mouse pointer to the right of the selected text. The toolbar contains commands for formatting text, such as setting the font, font size, color, center alignment, and so on. Moving the mouse pointer over the floating toolbar will make the commands fully visible, allowing you to easily format the text, as shown in Figure 2009120301.

If you don't need to display a floating toolbar in the Word 2010 document window, you can close it in the Word Options dialog box, as described in the following procedure:
Step 1th, open the Word 2010 document window, and click the file → options button, as shown in Figure 2009120302.

Step 2nd, in the Open Word Options dialog box, cancel the Show mini Toolbar on selection check box on the Standard tab, and click OK, as shown in Figure 2009120303.
