Install or remove the Connection Manager service profile. If used without optional parameters, CMSTP installs the service profile using the default settings that correspond to the permissions of the operating system and users.

Parameters
ServiceProfileFileName.exe
Syntax 1 requires this parameter, but is not valid for Syntax 2. Specifies, by name, the installation package that contains the configuration file to install.

Syntax 1 requires this parameter, but is not valid for Syntax 2. Specifies that the configuration file is installed without prompting the user. The confirmation message that the installation has succeeded will still be displayed.

Necessary. Specifies, by name, the configuration file that determines how to install the profile. [Drive:] The [Path] parameter is not valid for Syntax 1.
/nf
Specifies that support files are not installed.
/ni
Specifies that no desktop icon is created. This parameter is valid only for computers running Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0, or Windows Millennium Edition.
/ns
Specifies that no desktop shortcuts are created. This parameter is valid only for computers running Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
/s
Specifies that the service profile is installed or uninstalled statically (no user responds to prompts or displays confirmation).
/su
Specifies that the service profile be installed for an individual user, not for all users. This parameter is valid only for computers running Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
/u
Specifies that you want to uninstall the service profile.
/?
Display Help at the command prompt.

/S is the only parameter that can be used with the/u parameter.
Syntax 1 is the typical syntax used in custom installation applications. To use this syntax, you must run CMSTP from the directory that contains the ServiceProfileFileName.exe file.
Example
The following example shows the various possible uses of CMSTP through a fictitious service profile named fiction and its associated files.

To install a fiction service profile that does not contain any supporting files, type:
FICTION.EXE/C: "Cmstp.exe fiction.inf/nf"

To statically install the fiction service profile for an individual user, type:

To uninstall the fiction service profile statically, type:
