# Uname-A # view kernel/operating system/CPU Information
# Head-N 1/etc/issue # view the operating system version
# Cat/proc/cpuinfo # view CPU Information

Use head-N 1/etc/issue to list Linux OS I have currently used:

  1. Debian GNU/Linux squeeze
  2. Amazon Linux AMI release 2010.11.1 (Beta) (2011.02.1.1 (Beta). Does this number feel like the application date ?)
  3. Centos release 5.5 (Final) (Capital online cloud computing)
  4. Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server Release 5.5 (tikanga) (most of the Test Machines and formal servers are in this version.
